How To Screen Record On iPhone

To record your iPhone or iPad's screen, turn on recording and choose it from the Control Center.

All of your screen recordings will be saved in the Photos app, where you can easily edit or share them.

You can add sound to your screen recordings and also narrate them yourself.

It's pretty easy to take a screenshot, which is a single still picture of the screen of your iPhone, Mac computer, or Apple Watch. But if you have an iPhone or iPad and want to record your screen, it might not be so clear how to do it.

Once you know how to turn it on, it's just as easy to take a screen recording as it is to take a screenshot. A screen recording is a video of what's on your iPhone or iPad screen.

Here's how to record your iPhone or iPad's screen and then change it after it's been saved.

How to let your iPhone and iPad record the screen

You have to turn on the screen recording feature before you can record what's on your screen.

1. Open the Settings app, then tap Control Center.

2. Check to see if Screen Recording is in the Included Controls section. If it isn't, scroll down to More Controls and tap the green plus sign next to it. It should move to the Included Controls section, which means it is now available in the Control Center.

How to record your iPhone or iPad screen

Once you've turned on the feature, all you have to do to record your screen is press a button.

1. Open the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen, or swiping up from the bottom of the screen if you have a home button.

2. Press the Record button.

3. After three seconds, the Record button will turn red, and everything you do, even if you close the Control Center, will be recorded. You'll know you're still recording because your iPhone's screen will have a red bar at the top.

4.To stop recording, tap the red bar at the top left of the screen and then tap Stop in the pop-up that appears.

5. By default, your iPhone or iPad will only record the sound that comes out of it when you record your screen. If you want to add narration to your screen recording, hold down the Record button and tap the microphone icon. The icon will turn red when narration is turned on.

How to find your screen recording or change it

The recording you just made will show up in the Camera Roll. If you open the Photos app, it should be the first thing you see. From here, you can share it or change it like any other photo or video.

If you want your video to be perfect, you might want to cut the beginning or end. You can change the video and save it as a new clip. This won't change the original video, but it will give you a version you can share.

1. Open the Photos app and find the video.

2. Click Edit in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. Tap and drag the arrow at the very beginning of the video to the right at the bottom of the screen. It's going to turn into a yellow frame.

4. Change the size of the frame to only keep the part of the video you want. At any time, you can press the Play button to make sure you like the edit.

5. When you're done making changes, tap the "Done" button in the bottom-right corner.

How to improve the iPhone screen recordings you make

Even though it's easy to start recording the screen of your iPhone, you may want to do a few extra things to get the best results. Here are some ways to make your screen recordings better:

Close any apps you're not using: Screen recording is a process that uses a lot of resources and can slow down your phone. Close any iPhone apps you're not using to ease the load on your phone's processor and RAM. This will help your screen recording go more smoothly.

Turn on "Do Not Disturb" mode. Nothing is more annoying than getting a call or message notification while you're recording the perfect video. To stop that from happening, open the Control Center and tap the half-moon icon. This will turn on the "Do Not Disturb" mode. Keep in mind that the mode doesn't stop calls or notifications from coming through; it just mutes them.

Lock your iPhone's orientation: If you don't want your iPhone's screen to change orientation, open the Control Center and tap the lock icon. Check out our guide to learn how to turn your iPhone's screen.

iMovie can help you add captions: Captions improve your videos in many ways. For example, they help people understand what's going on in the video and make it easier for people who have trouble hearing to watch. With the iMovie app on your iPhone, you can add text to your videos.

Use an external microphone. The microphone on the iPhone isn't bad, but if you want to record something more professional, you'll need something better. You can connect external microphones to iPhones so that you can record the best sound for your audience.

You can also record a video of what's on your iPhone screen instead of just taking a picture of it.

Start the app for settings.

Click the Control Center button.

Scroll down and, if it's not already there, add "Screen Recording" to the list of toggles.

Bring up the Control Center and click on the Screen Recording toggle, which was added recently.

This will start a countdown to the start of the screen recording.

When you're finished, click the switch again to stop the recording. The footage can then be viewed in the Photos app.
